About Plants & Pets
Plants & Pets was built for a simple, frustrating moment: your dog just chewed a leaf off the plant on your windowsill, and Google gives you either a scanned PDF from a veterinary manual or a listicle of "20 plants to avoid" that doesn't mention the plant currently in your dog's mouth.
Every plant page on this site starts from the ASPCA's Animal Poison Control database β the same source veterinarians reference β for the toxic mechanism, onset time, and symptom detail that a bare toxic/non-toxic list doesn't include. We write the explanatory content ourselves rather than copying source text, and we note where a plant's reputation (dangerous or safe) doesn't match what veterinary toxicologists actually report.
Data entries show a "last verified" date, and we periodically re-check entries against current ASPCA listings. If you spot something that looks wrong, the contact page reaches us directly.
This site is supported entirely by display advertising β there's no subscription, no affiliate links, and no paid placement in the toxicity data itself.
